Halifax County South Boston Public Library System
ART CLASSES TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED
The library's art classes for both children and adults will not be held in August. Ms. Rebecca, our art instructor, has obtained a job with a school system and her schedule will be changing. We will be examining different possibilities for continuing the art classes in some fashion and hope to have more information available soon. Ms. Rebecca has done a terrific job starting and growing the classes, and we wish her well in her new position.
AUTHOR JENNIFER MCGAHA TO SPEAK AT THE LIBRARY
Jennifer McGaha, author of the book Flat Broke with Two Goats, will be at the South Boston Public Library on August 16. There will be a reception for the author at 5:30 pm, she will speak at 6:30 pm, and a book signing will follow at 7:30 pm. Copies of her book will be available for purchase that evening.
This event is being sponsored by the library in conjunction with the Halifax Farmers' Market, the South Boston Farmers' Market, Oak Grove Plantation, Hellow Yellow, Boyd Farms, Thaxton Farms, Sweets, and Hudson Heritage Farms.
Attendance at the reception, talk, and book signing are all free of charge. Donations in support of the event will be accepted during the reception.
