THE LIBRARY WILL BE CLOSED ON MONDAY JULY 4 IN OBSERVANCE OF INDEPENDENCE DAY.
BOTH BRANCHES OF THE LIBRARY WILL CLOSE AT 3:30 PM ON JULY 7 AND WILL BE CLOSED ALL DAY ON JULY 11 FOR THE PURPOSES OF STAFF TRAINING.
THE NEXT MEETING OF THE LIBRARY BOARD WILL BE HELD ON JULY 12 AT 4:30 PM AT THE HALIFAX PUBLIC LIBRARY.

THE LIBRARY IS NOT ACCEPTING DONATED BOOKS AT THIS TIME
The library is not accepting donated books at this time. Please save your donations as we hope to be able to once again accept them by the end of the summer.
UPCOMING FINE/FEE CHANGES
The following changes will take place to the library's schedule of fines and fees on September 6, 2016:
- All items that currently have a per day overdue fine amount of .15 cents will have a per day overdue fine amount of .20 cents.
- The per page cost for black and white photopcopies and printouts will go from .15 cents to .20 cents, while the per page cost for color copies and printouts will go from .50 cents to .75 cents.
- All items that currently have a maximum overdue fine limit of $5.00 will be raised to $6.00.

The Tea & Book Discussion Club meets on the third Tuesday of every month at 2:30 pm at the Halifax Public Library.
GET READY FOR SUMMER READING: THE ART OF READING
The library will be offering lots of great programs and events this summer. Familiar favorites, such as Art @ the Library and Art for Adults, will continue during the summer. Adult Crafts will expand to include both the Halifax and South Boston libraries. There will be reading logs available for kids and adults, along with prizes for our readers and programs for all ages, from young children to adults.
Children's author Chris Woodworth will be speaking at the Halifax Public Library on July 21 at 3 pm. This will be a great program for tweens, teens, and adults.
